Despite how cold it's been, there is a lot to love about the month of February!
In market news, inventories are going up across all property types, which could mean a more balanced market this year. Prices are expected to stay consistent, with better choice for those looking to find a new home to love.
February is Heart Health Awareness Month in North America. It's a great reminder to show your heart some love and look at some simple changes you can make to make your heart healthier. I have shared some easy-to-incorporate tips below.
Valentine's Day is around the corner - while a nice dinner is a great way to celebrate, I've shared three slightly different date ideas you can do with your special someone.
Given that February this year is one of the coldest we've had on record, I also have a few reminders of things that are actually good about Calgary in the winter.
Stay warm and I hope you have an excellent rest of the month.

It has been pretty cold the last few weeks, which can make even the most winter-loving Calgarian question why they live here versus somewhere a little warmer. Here are a few reminders of things to love about our city, even when it's -30C with the wind chill:
Plus 15s: Did you know you can walk 18km downtown without ever going outside?
The Plus 15 network opened in 1970 and has expanded to 62 bridges, connecting a lot of downtown Calgary's buildings. The name Plus 15 comes from the fact that the bridges are suspended about 15 feet above the streets of Calgary. However, some of the skywalks are multi-level which are referred to as Plus 30 and Plus 45.
Fish Creek Park: Welcome to the second-largest urban park in Canada! There are a lot of different winter activities that you can do in this park such as:
Walking: Some pathways in the park are cleared of snow during winter for easy access.
If snow conditions allow activities such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are possible. Note: Pathways are not groomed or maintained for cross-country skiing)
Winter Bird Watch: Fish Creek is full of birds! Grab your binoculars and head outdoors to do some bird watching. Take some bird seed with you, if you're lucky, you may be able to feed chickadees from the palms of your hands!
Check out the Ice Falls: The ice falls are located in the south end of the park along the Stream Loop, near Bow Bottom Trail. To access them you can either park in the Bow Valley Ranche parking lot, or in the Sikome Lake lot as well. And from there, they are just a small hike away!
Chinook winds: These (usually) welcome winds can increase the temperature by as much as 20 degrees in just a few hours. They show up often enough in the winter that we know even the coldest deep-freeze can last too much longer.
Winter Sports: Whether you want to stay in town or venture to the mountains, there is lots of opportunity to try a new winter sport or enjoy an old favourite. From skiing , to outdoor ice skating, tubing, sledding and more, our access to winter sport options is pretty cool.

Valentine's Day can sometimes be criticized for being a little cliché and predictable. Flowers, cards, a nice dinner and some chocolates are often the go-to solutions. If those aren't things that make you or your sweety feel butterflies, you might consider one of these slightly unconventional date night ideas:
